Food Monday – Xquisite’s Chicken in Mushroom sauce in Lekki

Happy new week.

Today’s food monday post is about the lunch we had this afternoon at a not so new spot in Lekki. The restaurant had been around since 2013 but they moved to a new location and we thought to explore their meals for the first time.

For this week’s food discovery we visited Xquisite restaurant and had their chicken in mushroom sauce with special fried rice for Lunch. See pictures below

Summary

The restaurant’s ambiance is a bit classic with all the retro deco’s on the wall. It is almost very hidden which makes it perfect if you are looking to have a quiet time while having your meal. They also have a bar I will like to see what it will look like at night.

Their menu was a bit confusing because they had Nigerian and continental dishes in different pages, also they mixed up Nigerian with beef dishes under continental. So I had to ask a lot of questions before ordering to be sure I was getting what I wanted, the waiter was very helpful. I ordered mushroom sauce but wanted it beef instead of chicken, they mentioned not having beef which was weird so I went with chicken. Also the waiter recommended their house special fried rice as a better option for the side since they did not have any listed on the menu.

While waiting for my lunch they served buns and butter ‘Am like this isn’t going to help my hungry self’ but I still had it. They served my lunch 25 minutes after.

Presentation was alright. I really liked the special fried rice it has diced chicken, prawns and vegetables really nice it was a bit spicy as well. However, the mushroom sauce was just alright and the chicken had no taste. I really enjoyed the special fried rice.
