Cookie for my Lekki Beauty Journey – Product Review
By Olammide on April 16, 2015@livinginlekki
Hello Guys,
My beauty exploration continues in Lekki and like I stated in my first post about my opinion about beauty and skincare. You will learn more today about my beauty journey and also more about the product I will be reviewing in the post today.
I am really excited to be doing this review today because it is my first beauty product review in Lekki and I actually used the product i am reviewing today.
My skincare regime really changed since I started using the cookie skin product range given to me. It has really helped my skin a lot more.
In the bag, I received 3 products Tri-active brighten & Protect day fluid, Dermal repair Nourishing whitening cream & Dermal repair whitening + Acne serum.
After using all 3 for 3 weeks I must admit I have my favorite of them all, which is the same one you will find in my handbag everyday. To be honest I was wary about the range because like i said i don’t do much of skincare except the basic cream along with sheabutter. So, trying this was very different for me, as a lady paying attention to your body doesn’t stop at hair and make up, the skin is important is as well.
– The first time I used the Dermal repair Nourishing cream, I felt it smelt like a drug which was a turn off for me for the first 2 days but after a while the smell regulated. The dermal repair is my favourite because I was able to build my regime around it. I started using it after I stood under the sun for 2 hours (First elections). I got really dark and my face looked like it had some dead skin cells, so I gave it a try using it a day before going out. I honestly thought after 1 week I would drop it because I was sure I would dump but infact I am addicted now. The cream is so smooth on the skin and i did some research about the ingredients which are mostly natural products. It is rich in vitamin C which is very good on my skin.
The refreshment my skin got from using the whitening + acne serum was very different. The serum is for normal oily skin and the odd thing about my body is my face is oily while other parts of my body remain dry so I don’t use the same cream on my face as other parts of my body. I used the serum 2 Nights for 2 weeks after bath. The serum has a a sweet scent and refreshed my skin as it was cool on my skin.
From my observations most of the products are meant to be used alongside others. With the Tri-active brighten & protect day fluid i had to use it with another lotion which I did not have but I tried it out for a week (3 times a week) on the day I was not using the nourishing cream. I like the fact that it felt like a water based moisturizer for my skin. It worked for my skin (Which I will consider as sensitive sometimes) because it is meant to help repair sun damaged skin, rejuvenating it and protecting it from stress. I think i would have gotten better results from this if i used with the SPF30.
Summary – I liked the cookie skin range I got and I am addicted to the Nourishing cream. All the products have natural ingredients such as Vitamin C, B3 which are some of the most important vitamins for the skin, along with milk which helps to replenish the skin.
Not sure this is for everyone but after using the dermal repair cream and then applying make up with the hot sun in Lagos my face started getting very itchy so I guessed my make up and the cream were not a good combo. So when I use the cream I don’t use make up for a couple of hours. I also noticed that for skincare products like this you need to build it with your beauty regime so you need to use them for sometime to get them to work well. I will continue using the products to get more and better results for my skin (3 Weeks is not enough)
