‘Arts in Lekki’
Someone asked me recently when I became a big Arts person, my immediate reply was I never really knew because I did not have the time to discover. The older I got the more I started to appreciate the little crafts you see, I used to be one of those homely people crafting up home decor with wool and thread, but not anymore. Funny thing is a few years down the line, I sorta dropped it because it was boring but then back to Lagos where it all started.
I remember the Art classes in school telling us about Art discovery Festac 77 and other historical art discoveries, it did not really interest me then. But when you start appreciating the little crafts you usually pay no mind to , you then begin to see that those moments should have been treasured such as this one encounter I had in Lekki.
A few months ago, I came across this New mall and the little waka about Me checked out the different store only to see what it had to offer my neighborhood. What stories can I possibly tell people, and then I entered this Arts store and fell in love all again.
I said to my friend this is amazing and No one knows about this store. Like this is almost the best you can get without going to an exhibition, you will know premium and the finest of them all when you see them starring at you.
I won’t lie just by looking I knew I could not afford anything in the store asides from the scented candles but I knew I still had to tell my story.
Here I am today, wondering why I said all of Africa in Lekki? It is simply because this store carries the finest of all handmade crafts from different African Countries such as South Africa, Mali, Kenya and Even our motherland Nigeria.
Art is everything but never deceiving, everything in the store originates from different African countries. They sell original home decorations, Accessories made from original leather, perfumes, chairs and every other thing you can find. It is very traditional but yet modern. The first thing I fell in love with was the Elephant Tusks with ostrich egg shells made for Home decorations now you will know that is expensive and it came from South Africa.
Then the handmade leather accessories from female bags, men’s purses and gadget accessories. They really had everything unique to the wooden calculator from South Africa, you ask how I know?!

Anyways, they also have chest for decoration or actual use, Perfumes from Nigeria and Mali, Letter cards, Key holders, belts, candles, Beauty products & a lot more.
Everything hand-made how cool is that.
