Food Monday – A Foodies Favorites at Owambe Mart in Lekki

Yoyo and ede

Hello Guys,

Hope you had a good weekend.

This week’s food Monday is about a foodie’s favorite from one of the best local joints in Lekki Phase 1 ‘Owambe Mart’.

Owambe Mart is one of Lekki phase 1’s best kept food secret as a local joint. I went on an adventure and discovered some really nice local foods/ipanu’s at Owambe mart in Lekki. The mart is only open weekends friday to sunday.

FYI – Every foodie on an adventure should try out at least two favorites on this list.

1. Puffpuff – Yes they sell puff puff in Lekki at Owambe Mart “Every Sunday”

2. Yanyan and Ede – The first time I saw yanyan and ede at Owambe mart, I was shocked because I have not had yanyan and ere in ages. Yanyan is small fish (fried) and ede is prawn spiced up, fried.

3. Amala and Okra Soup – This was a major discovery because I never knew they sold swallow and the amazing okra soup. The soup was everything with all the pieces of assorted meat inside.

4. Firewood Jollof rice –  I had to put this on the list just because it is firewood rice. It smells just like the yoruba party rice, for a weekend when you don’t have any wedding and you feel like party food. You should look out for owambe’s jollof rice.
